India and Europe have always shared very cordial trade relations. The bilateral trade between India and Europe stood at
US $74.5 billion in 2010 and is likely to touch US $207.6 billion by 2015. The SMEs, Entrepreneurs, Young Entrepreneurs
and Large Companies are always keen to develop business connectivity between India and Europe to explore new
business opportunities and the effort is increasing day by day in various sectors. Many Indian companies have started
looking for setting up industrial units in many European countries.
Small and Medium Entrepreneurs plays a key role for the economic growth of every Nation. SMEs are very keen to learn
and obtain new business opportunities from various sectors. Keeping in view the potentiality for business growth between
India and Europe, Mr. Chandrakant Salunkhe - President of India International Trade Centre (IITC-INDIA), Small &
Medium Business Development Chamber of India (SME Chamber of India) and Chairman & MD, Macro Group of
Companies have taken initiatives to set up
“EUROPE – INDIA SME BUSINESS COUNCIL”to support SMEs and entrepreneurs to enhance bilateral trade and
investment promotion in India and Europe.
This Council is a unique platform for SMEs, Entrepreneurs, Young Entrepreneurs and Large Companies to establish
contacts with each other. The SMES will get an opportunity to exchange information about new business opportunities,
import, export, joint ventures, collaborations, alliance, technology transfers, contract manufacturing tie ups and other
business activities in various sectors. The Council will support for investment promotion in India and European countries
and identify business partners, setting up industrial units and other related matters.
